INTRO TO PRANAYAMA - BHRAMARI BREATH | BENJI
Pranayama is the 4th limb of Patanjalis ancient 8-limb system.
Prana, or life force, is said to be most easily accessed through the breath. For this reason, pranayama techniques could also be seen as breath work practices. Because we are dealing with the subtle or energetic body it is advised to approach pranayama slowly and methodically.
Bhramari or humming bee breath is designed to lengthen the exhalation. This, along with the sooting sound of the breath is a beautiful way to develop presence and a sense of calm. This breath can be practiced before going to sleep or even before an asana class to help still the mind.
